Morning Coffee Klatch Events

Introvert Leader Coffee Klatch events image: photo of three people holding mugs of coffee together, two are lattés in mugs and one is an iced black coffee in a mason jar. The background is blurred

This is a monthly event and a great way to build new connections for people who don’t like traditional networking. Making connections shouldn’t be a numbers game. Let’s learn and grow together!

Each session will have a set topic to help put a container around the conversation and then the group will create the discussion together based on their personal experiences and challenges. Don’t see a topic below that interests you? Send me any suggestions to bekizajac@on-being-human.ca and I’ll work to include them in future events.

This is a free event, but to keep the group size manageable, pre-registration is required. Please use the Eventbrite links below to secure your spot.

May 4, 2023 (Topic: Delegation)

This month we’re talking about delegation. I hear from a lot of leaders that this is a struggle for them, so we’ll be considering:

What prevents us from effectively delegating work to our team? How do we balance trust and control?

June 8, 2023 (Topic: Leading Teams Through Change)

It seems like many of us are navigating big changes at work now. As leaders, we have the dual challenge of adapting to the change ourselves and supporting our teams to understand and accept it.

This month, we’ll be considering:

How do teams struggle when experiencing organizational change? What can leaders do to support ourselves while supporting our teams?

Upcoming Webinars

Sometimes I deliver webinars on leadership topics.

If you would like to request a specific webinar, contact me to discuss what you’re looking for.

On Demand: Meet Less, Meet Better (presented for the Project Management Institute)

Meetings are the biggest time and energy drain for a lot of teams. Some studies have shown that 92% of employees consider meetings costly and unproductive, and 70% of meetings keep employees from their tasks. As project managers with objectives to deliver, we can’t afford to lose time to unproductive meetings! This webinar will help you to rethink how and when you meet to better support the success of your project team by giving them back more time to get important things done.

In this webinar, delivered exclusively on projectmanagement.com, I cover:

  • how to minimize your team’s time spent in meetings by making good decisions when adding a new meeting to the schedule and by auditing existing meetings;
  • how to prepare for your meetings to limit their length by optimizing meeting scope, getting clear on objectives, managing to timelines, and including the right attendees; and
  • some tools to manage typical meeting pitfalls and difficult meeting personalities.

This was delivered live on April 6, 2023 and PMI members can watch the replay here.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to present at local conferences and other professional events.

May 25, 2023: Quick Thinking PM: Go From Blank to Brilliant (at PMI VI Pro-D Conference)

I will be one of the presenters at the upcoming Project Management Institute Vancouver Island Chapter’s annual Professional Development Conference!

Find me at the University Club of Victoria at 2pm, where I’ll share what I’ve learned about being quicker on your feet as an introvert.
