Morning Coffee Klatch Events

This is a monthly event and a great way to build new connections for people who don’t like traditional networking. Making connections shouldn’t be a numbers game. Let’s learn and grow together!

Each session will have a set topic to help put a container around the conversation and then the group will create the discussion together based on their personal experiences and challenges. Don’t see a topic below that interests you? Send me any suggestions to bekizajac@on-being-human.ca and I’ll work to include them in future events.

This is a free event, but to keep the group size manageable, pre-registration is required. Please use the Eventbrite links below to secure your spot.

Just like the morning coffee klatch events, but later! Based on feedback from some of you, I’ve added an evening coffee meetup for April. If this becomes popular, I’ll continue running it on a monthly basis like the morning one.

Topics will be the same as the morning meetup each month.

This is a free event, but to keep the group size manageable, pre-registration is required. Please use the Eventbrite link below to secure your spot.

Upcoming Webinars

Sometimes I deliver webinars on leadership topics.

If you would like to request a specific webinar, contact me to discuss what you’re looking for.

April 6, 2023: Meet Less, Meet Better (presented for the Project Management Institute)

Meetings are the biggest time and energy drain for a lot of teams. Some studies have shown that 92% of employees consider meetings costly and unproductive, and 70% of meetings keep employees from their tasks. As project managers with objectives to deliver, we can’t afford to lose time to unproductive meetings! This webinar will help you to rethink how and when you meet to better support the success of your project team by giving them back more time to get important things done.

In this webinar, delivered exclusively on projectmanagement.com, I’ll cover:

  • how to minimize your team’s time spent in meetings by making good decisions when adding a new meeting to the schedule and by auditing existing meetings;
  • how to prepare for your meetings to limit their length by optimizing meeting scope, getting clear on objectives, managing to timelines, and including the right attendees; and
  • some tools to manage typical meeting pitfalls and difficult meeting personalities.

PMI members can register online here.

April 20, 2023: Thinking On Your Feet

This webinar is for anyone who has ever been put on the spot in a meeting and gone completely blank.

As leaders, it’s important to show up confidently for our team and often this means speaking up when we don’t have time to prepare in advance. Not everyone thinks well on their feet, though, so what can we do?

If you prefer to think things over before giving a response or if you find yourself blanking when you should be contributing, this webinar is for you.

During the session, we’ll cover:

  • why you may be struggling to think on your feet or come up with answers in the moment,
  • what happens when you blank,
  • tricks to appear like you’re thinking on your feet, and
  • strategies to get better at this skill over the long-term.

Bring your lunch and learn with me!
